Hello DIY‘er!! Today, a very warm day in the middle of August, let’s make a resume of the full collection of the DIY travel kit! If you haven’t gone on vacation yet or you have planned a getaway later on this year, be sure to see how cool the complete travel kit is and how you can make each of these pieces. This summer I don’t have much vacation time, but i’ll take the opportunity for a little getaway next week and I’ll have an excuse to use my complete kit. I can not wait! Happy summer DIY‘ers !!!
Hello DIY‘er, today I bring you a slightly different post but I’m sure it may come in handy… It’s about tips for your holiday wardrobe. I just joined this month’s REDRESS campaign (an NGO based in Hong Kong dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability in the fashion world) Interesting right? For this year 2014, they are working with the challenge of promoting different topics each month, June was about DIY, and July is now about packing wisely for the holidays. I couldn’t resist the challenge of making a post showing you how we can pack more intelligent, efficient and light using our DIY’s of course!!… I hope you will find this post helpful for your summer vacations!
Hello DIY’ers, here is the last post from our DIY Travel Kit series. I loved making this travel kit, I’ve been lucky to use it a couple of times now and I would use it again next weekend for a little wedding getaway.
In this post I will show you how easy it is to make a cosmetic bag or as popularly known as a toilet Bag. The truth is that this is a multifunction bag, I have called it a toilet bag because to me it is very comfortable to carry my toiletries together (creams, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, among other things…) But the truth is that you can use this type of bag to carry shoes or also keep dirty clothes separate from clean clothes inside your suitcase… the inside contents are for you to decide 😉
Hello DIY‘ers! Are you traveling this summer? I hope so! Here I present you with a new post from our DIY Travel Kit series.
One of our fears when traveling is our security, especially if going to an unknown place and we are staying in a hostel or hotel… Today, many hotels have safety boxes in the rooms, but some don’t. This happened to me when I traveled to Thailand last summer. You are put in the position of going out with all your money, cards, documents, passport on you, and eventually you end up overwhelmed. In this case, you can use what I have called the DIY secret hanger. Here you can store whatever you want without being noticed where your stuff is.
Want to make your own? It’s easy!
Hello DIY‘ers! Happy Monday to you! I’m very exited because I’m going to America in some days to my brother’s graduation… And of course I can’t go on this trip without some DIY pieces. Summer is almost here and most of us will do a little vacation trip too, right? So I created a DIY Travel Kit, with different pieces for your convenience when traveling. So let’s start with an easy one, let’s make a DIY makeup bag.
The problem I’ve had with makeup bags, is that it’s almost inevitable that eye shadow, eyeliner or blush ends up staining the bag inside… and your cute makeup bag ends up looking like a piñata of colors and stains inside, and there’s no way to clean that! So with this bag, I decided to make it with a plastic liner to make it very easy to clean with a damp cloth if any accident happens. So let’s start, DO IT YOURSEL TRAVEL KIT starts now!
This past summer I was lucky enough to visit a country that I’ve been wanting to visit for a long time: Thailand! It is a country so full of culture that it is impossible not to be inspired by its landscape , its people, its flavors and colors. I was shocked by how similar it was to the Dominican Republic ( yes, I know it’s hard to believe ) But I think the similarities between these countries comes from the similar climate and latitud that shapes the personalities of the people as well as the culture. (this is the only logical explanation I can think of , if you have an opinion , feel free to comment on this 🙂 ) I want to share with you a small collection of photos of this beautiful country , to inspire and nourish the eye. Hope you enjoy 😉 Continue reading
