Yes… Again! More pineapples!!! I promise to stop until next summer. But this time it’s a different way of applying them. Creating a stamp from scratch! Today we have the honor to have a very special model, Laura, my best friend and almost sister who is in Barcelona on holiday. Isn’t she is gorgeous? Read on and discover how to make this shirt with a unique stamped pattern!

Materials:

  • Shirt (or any item you want)
  • Eraser
  • Textile Painting
  • Pencil
  • Cutter/Blade
  • Iron
  • Cloth or scrap (for testing before and to place in the middle of your shirt)

Process:

1. Draw a pineapple in the middle of your eraser. You can look at the one that I have made or you can search online to sketch another design.

2. Carefully cut the pineapple shape with a cutter and then remove the excess rubber around the pineapple. Remember to cut each line creating the eraser stamp so the drawing is better understood.

3. On a scrap or cloth do some tests to see that amount of paint you like.

4. Spread your garment and place a plastic or cloth between the shirt so that the paint does not pass through. Carefully stamp where you want your pineapples.

5. Retira el sello de piña y deja secar cuidando que el tejido no se levante.

5. Remove the stamp and let it dry.  Remove the stamp making sure that the fabric will not move.

6. When finished let it dry as directed on your textile paint. Mine is between 8 and 12 hours.

7. Finally just iron the shirt backwards or on the right side depending on your brand of textile paint. And done!

Isn´t it easy to make homemade stamps? You can reuse this pineapple stamp for more DIY projects, you only need to clean the painted surface.
